RETURN TO THE CIRQUE (working title - title recommendations accepted) Photography by Vivien Lougheed, Linda Thompson & Deb Hazell
The Cirque of the Unclimbables, in the geographical heart of the Mackenzie Mountains is a mecca for rock climbers. This majestic cluster of rock faces wasn't discovered until the Fifties and since then climbers and photographers have poured in to conquor and record its peaks. One of the early photographers was Galen Rowell who published a compelling image of Mount Proboscis, Canada's most perfect granite climbing rock. This book is photographic journalism that includes historical and present day images of climbers, hikers, rocks and rain and a unique souvenir for anyone who has been fortunate enough to experience seeing these mountains.
